As a background of what services I offer, here is my background:
I am a part-time Certified Public Accountant, trying hard Programmer, skilled Accounting System implementor, wannabe operations consultant, trainor of several Accounting Packages and finally, a devoted computer addict.

My ambition in life is to become a Full-time Father and a husband.

On my Own

Yah right..I guess this is it. i am now officially..unemployed! Nope, I am not one of those people who got laid off because of the global financial crisis. I just realized that there are many ways to help the company and myself reach our own goals.

Companies need to be very efficient these days or else..it will be costly. Of course, the same applies to every employee. Well, not being defensive..Im not saying that I am not efficient..I think? I was exposed to different kinds of work and experiences that I feel its not being productive anymore. Although I know what I want and love to do for the rest of my life, I was never been given the chance to do so 100%. Of course, it is very understandable. Every employee should look after the welfare of the company they are working for. Conflicts do exist of course..and that makes the employee-employer relationship "colorful". But in the end, it is always for the companies welfare, as a matter of fact in the first place, thats the main reason why people are employed. So no more question.

But why leave now? Well, there are several reasons. First of all, there is an opportunity to start my own. Second, I just realized, if not now..when? And third..why not now when there is an opportunity?

Regarding financial crisis, well, everybody think that its not a good time to start. But for me, it is the best time to start! And why? Hehe..because companies at these times cannot afford to hire someone like me.

To give or not to give?

My family had our Sunday routine of going to church and spend the day for God. Unlike the previous Sundays where we used to go to the basilica, we went to another church. Unlike the basilica, the church was not that full packed. And so the mass went on. Before the last prayer, some announcements were made including the need for a second collection for a certain improvement of the church. My wife was hesitant because she rather give donation if the intention was for charity. She had this conclusion because before we went inside the church, she saw many beggars and street children.

After the mass, again, we had our little debate. Should we or should we not give?

Her argument was, the church, government and people should give more to those unfortunate and not spend almost all on infrastructures.

Mine was, I think the government, church and people do their best already, its just that some "unfortunates" chose to be "unfortunate".

Im very hesitant to give to mendicants because of a bad experience. I gave a beggar my last coin coz its all i have in my pocket. Maybe she was not satisfied of the amount, she threw the coin in my face. It was whole-heartedly given eventhough the amount was not that big so I was very upset. From that day on, I decided to never give to mendicants instead, only to charity institutions. I also learned that some unfortunates who were relocated and given shelter and basic needs went out of the shelters to return back to the streets and went back to begging.

What seems to be the problem? Well, I think its just a matter of choice. We chose to work hard and earn, and they chose to sleep in the streets and beg. In the end, stopping mendicancy is a very long process. It does not only involve knowing the source of the problem and the solution, it also needs understanding of what comes in between the "SOURCE" and "SOLUTION".

Vague? Im talking of the inbetween letters.. UR and U. What you are is your choice.

World's oldest joke traced back to 1900 BC

The world's oldest recorded joke has been traced back to 1900 BC and suggests that toilet humor was as popular with the ancients as it is today.

It is a saying of the Sumerians, who lived in what is now southern Iraq and goes: "Something which has never occurred since time immemorial; a young woman did not fart in her husband's lap."

It heads the world's oldest top 10 joke list published by the University of Wolverhampton on Thursday.
A 1600 BC gag about a pharaoh, said to be King Snofru, comes second -- "How do you entertain a bored pharaoh? You sail a boatload of young women dressed only in fishing nets down the Nile and urge the pharaoh to go catch a fish."

The oldest British joke dates back to the 10th Century and reveals the bawdy face of the Anglo-Saxons -- "What hangs at a man's thigh and wants to poke the hole that it's often poked before? Answer: A key."

"Jokes have varied over the years, with some taking the question and answer format while others are witty proverbs or riddles," said the report's writer Dr Paul McDonald, senior lecturer at the university.

"What they all share however, is a willingness to deal with taboos and a degree of rebellion. Modern puns, Essex girl jokes and toilet humor can all be traced back to the very earliest jokes identified in this research."

Bittersweet memories

These days, I just had some sleepless nights. Some "malayo ang tingin" moments and what-ifs these days. Not because I'm into some high school type love affair or what, I'm just being hounded by what some call "bittersweet memories". Memories that made you happy in the past but unfortunately, are the same memories that make you very sad or lonely if remembered today. It's quite ironic that in the past, when these memories were the present, you cherish every moment of it. But today, you do all your best not to remember a bit of it coz it will not only waste so much tearjerky moments but also its useless (or useful..saves me from heart attack!).
To sum it up, we needed these memories anyway, it make our lives..bitter and sweet!

Right or Wrong?

I just had a small debate with a "friend" about how do we know what is right or wrong. He told me that as long as we don't break the law, then it's right. Well thats ok, but then I asked, how do we know that the law we are to obey are righteous in the first place when laws are created by men himself? And men, in the first place again, are like me, confused of how to identify whats right or wrong in the first place again (and again). Confusing? Well yes..and so ironically, that is why we have laws..to erase the existence of..confusion. I think.
(Actually, after our debate, we got more confused.)

Sugar-free

I just had a drink of this famous softdrink brand which boast of being a sugar-free soda and ahhh! And then a minute later I received an SMS from my sister warning me not to drink the "I just bottomed-up soda coz it contains a sort of cancer-causing chemical".
Was I scared? Not at all...why? Well, I think everything now that we eat, smell, touch, hear or what contains cancer-causing chemicals or whatever.. as what the chain SMS or spam emails told us so far. I was amazed reading these emails and SMS that I suddenly felt that the only THING that doesn't contain cancer-causing substance is...NOTHING!
One thing is for sure though, we are all gonna perish, but how and when is never for sure.

My 1st year with Sir Wilson Ng

Yes, it is my 1st year anniversary working with Ng Khai/Esprint and Sir Wilson. In this generation of workers - or atleast for my batch - it is often hard to stay on a company for a long time. There is always the reason of "greener pasture". For me alone, this is my 3rd company in 6 years. Well, the reason was not always the "greener pasture". Sometimes, it is the "better pasture". Right now, honestly speaking, i love my job. True, there are ups and downs. But for me, of the 3 pastures I've been into, this is the better one.

I really appreciated my boss because unlike everyone else of his status, he shares his wisdom. He is more of a teacher to me than a boss. And for me, a teacher can always be a boss also, but it's not always that a boss can be a teacher at the same time. And the 1 year of stay for me is a year full of learning.

To make the long story short, the end of a 1st is always a beginning for the 2nd, hehehe...

Happy 1st Wedding Anniversary

And so it was already a year after I got "tied-up", hehehe. Well, almost everybody asked the same question - how will we celebrate it. Honestly, I don't know. My wife has a work that day so there's not much time to plan things out. So I did the simpliest thing of all. I brought our son with me to her office and we both waited for his mom to have a break then we ate together as one family.

It was simple, but we all feel great.

Pit Senor!

As the headline says, no rain could ever stop Sinulog! An overwhelming estimate of 1 million or more devotees attended the procession last saturday (Jan. 19) even under the rain. And that includes us. It was a bit scary though but in the end, it only proves 1 thing - faith can only be called faith if you practice it only with faith. I was teary-eyed during the mass, I could only imagine the power that made all these people gather together and pray as one. As the priest has said during the homily, it's all about love and nothing else. Well, I agree.

Happy New Year!

2007 was indeed a year of events for me. I got married, had a son, new job and new boss, and many other happenings. It was a joyful year as well as a year of sacrifices. A year of adjustments and a year of understanding. To sum it up, it was a colorful and eventful year.

What I learned from the past year? Millions! To say it in words might be a year-long of talking, but anyway, it can be described in these quotes:

Why did this talented employee leave despite a top salary? Arun quit for the same reason that drives many good people away. The answer lies in one of the largest studies undertaken by the Gallup Organization. The study surveyed over a million employees and 80,000 managers and was published in a book called First Break All The Rules. It came up with this surprising finding: If you're losing good people, look to their immediate supervisor. More than any other single reason, he is the reason people stay and thrive in an organization. And he's the reason why they quit, taking their knowledge, experience and contacts with them. Often, straight to the competition.

"People leave managers not companies," write the authors Marcus Buckinghamand Curt Coffman. "So much money has been thrown at the challenge of keeping good people - in the form of better pay, better perks and better training - when, in the end, turnover is mostly a manager issue."

If you have a turnover problem, look first to your managers. Are they driving people away? The life puzzle

Is it really true that everthing in life is a zigzaw puzzle? Meaning, it is composed of several parts that individually, will never make up the whole picture. You have to fit every part such that you make a big picture worthy of appreciation. The problem is that, you will never enjoy the puzzle (or the game) not unless you break it down first. Which means, you have to take the effort in solving the whole puzzle called life and go through break up coz it's the only way for us to enjoy it.

Ng Khai Christmas Party and Employee Recognition Night

December 22, 2007. The party was ok except for my costume and wig which smells very terrible. Our presentation was ...well, messy. This is actually the 4th Christmas party I attended since I started working and this one was also the loneliest. Why? This is also the first time that I didn't received any award or recognition at all. Was it a bad year for me as employee? Or have I not done anything worthy of recognition this year? Maybe, or not. As my wife said, it's not my time, I've been up always so now I'm down. Ouch! Well, award or not, it still is a very happy Christmas. All in the family is well and I have my son - the greatest gift and award that God already gave me for my whole life to cherish.

The Earth Show

I recently added a slideshow in this blog and suddenly I have something to post. Life has been very busy lately and I supposed, everybody else is busy. Seeing these slides made me realize - the Earth is very beautiful, how in heaven's sake could I afford not to appreciate it!?

Sometimes we are so busy with our daily activities and problems that we tend to forget how God made our planet very beautiful for us to see and appreciate. I sometimes wonder, if I can afford not to see the beauty right infront of my eyes, how can I possibly appreciate the beautiful things my eyes cannot see...

Quickbooks Pro 2006 UK Forum

Well, I decided to add this forum to my blog hoping that my current clients and anyone interested who have questions regarding QuickBooks can also find this personal blog "helpful".


Currently I have deployed several already and I do not only install but set-up accounting systems and solve problems of businesses especially on their current operations and information management.

Family Day

Last Oct. 27 and Nov. 3-4 we at Ng Khai held our family days. Employees get to bring their family on these get-together parties. These were very enjoyable events and I really appreciated the efforts of our management especially our boss for these parties. My family gets to meet my co-employees and my bosses. But the most important thing was the thought that I'm working for a CEO who loves his family as much as he loves his work and I think even more. My wife and I were very happy that even at an age of 5 months, my baby also enjoyed the events.

Navision Training (Oct. 15-27, 2007)

I attended a training in Makati last Oct. 15 to 27 for Navision. It was actually a 3-simultaneous boot-camp training. Trainings were held for the Functional and Technical aspects of Navision and the third was for the CRM training. I decided to take-up the technical training for the reason that I already passed and was certified for the functional aspect. The technical aspect will be very hard without any sort of training from experts. Fortunately, my knowledge with programming languages helped me a lot to be able to cope up with the very fast pace of the training. Or maybe because I also did my homework before going to school, so to speak.

I was surprised of how willing the other resellers from Luzon in spending a lot for these sort of trainings. On the average, they have at least 2 people attending every training. Well, I was alone, but not quite. I learned a lot from my co-workers here in NgKhai that I once thought of myself as a technical person instead of being a finance person. What I learned from them made sure that I will not be left behind on this training especially on the hardware side.

In the end, I learned a lot but also found out that there is so much more to learn yet. To rate it, the training gave me barely 10% of the entire lessons that I need to learn.

A sad and happy week

I received an SMS last Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007 from my sister back home informing me that they have brought our mother in the hospital because of breathing difficulty. She has a guiter problem since I think 2003 and from then on, I always insisted that she should undergo operation. No wonder I kept on thinking of her that day. It's been a month or more since the last time I was home and I really do miss them all. Now we can insist that she has to have an operation, but she got sick and the doctor won't allow it. I felt so guilty, I don't know. I'm supposed to be home, but I can't due to financial restrictions.

Also this week, I received a news from my boss that I will be transferred from NgKhai to Esprint and handle the software solution business. Of course, I will be given my fair share of increase, both in compensation and obligations. I should be very happy with the news considering that my boss trust me, but no. The reality is, my mother is sick, and there is nothing to celebrate, even on my birthday...

Well, in everything that I do, my family is my inspiration. Without them, nothing else matters.
